The Maribel Initiative: Restoring Wonder, One Memory at a Time
The Maribel Initiative is a heartfelt global educational outreach program led by MonuMint, designed to help children and families feel more connected, comfortable, and inspired during cemetery visits. At the center of the initiative is Maribel, a vibrant, red-haired superheroine who represents remembrance, courage, and compassion.
Through interactive storytelling, engaging comic books, and cemetery-based events, Maribel guides young minds in understanding loss, honoring history, and celebrating the lives of those who came before us.
Cemeteries can feel overwhelming or even scary to children. The Maribel Initiative transforms that experience into one of exploration, meaning, and connection. Her motto — “We Remember Because We Love” — empowers families to talk openly about grief and memory in an age-appropriate and uplifting way.
Implemented in partnership with local cemeteries, libraries, schools, and historical societies, the initiative uses storytelling, crafts, QR-coded headstones, and cameo portraits to create lasting, meaningful interactions. Events often feature costumed appearances by Maribel herself, bringing joy and reassurance to the experience.
Maribel isn’t just a superhero — she’s a guardian of memories, and her mission is just beginning.
“Maribel, the Keeper of Memory”
Long ago, in a quiet village blanketed in mist and moss, Maribel was born with the rare gift of Sight Beyond Time. From a young age, she could sense the stories woven into stones—echoes of lives once lived, love once shared, and legacies nearly forgotten.
Donning her green MonuMint uniform, symbolizing life and renewal, and a flowing rose-pink cape for compassion, she took on the mission of restoring monuments and reigniting remembrance. The “M” on her chest stands not just for MonuMint—but for Memory, Meaning, and Mending the past.
Her superpowers are subtle but mighty: the ability to cleanse stone with a single touch, summon stories with her scanning device, and plant blooms where neglect once reigned. Children adore her gentle strength; she teaches them that honoring history is a form of everyday heroism.
Maribel travels from site to site, helping families rediscover connections, teaching communities to preserve what matters, and ensuring no story is erased by time. In cemeteries across the nation, she is known simply as: Maribel, the Keeper of Memory.

Maribel Comic Books
Monumint will be introducing these first 6 comic books which will be published in Q4 of 2025 and Q1 of 2026. The stories all feature Maribel and her team of young guardians — now officially named The Memory Keepers. Each story blends history, mystery, and cemetery adventure with heart, curiosity, and a little magic.
1. The Forgotten Soldier
In the heart of a quiet town lies a forgotten cemetery—overgrown, cracked, and whispered to be haunted. But beneath the mossy silence stirs a secret: it’s protected by Maribel, a radiant red-haired superhero with the power to awaken memories and restore what time tried to erase.
In The Adventures of Maribel: The Memory Keepers Begin, we meet Maribel and her new team of brave, curious kids known as The Memory Keepers—Mallory, Avery, Mason, Paisley, and Charlotte—each chosen for their unique gifts of empathy, creativity, and courage. When a treasure map appears about gold coins Maribel must lead the team in their first battle against Graven, a villain who feeds on neglect and wants to steal a rumored fortune.
Along the way, they learn that cemeteries are not scary—they are sacred, alive with love and legacy. This first issue blends adventure, education, and emotion, teaching young readers that memory is power—and some heroes wear capes not to fight, but to remember.
2. Maribel and the Whispering Willow
Theme: Forgotten Friendship & Civil Rights
In the heart of the cemetery stands a massive weeping willow that no one dares approach. Legend says it “whispers names” at night. The Memory Keepers discover the grave of Lorraine Devine, a 12-year-old girl buried under the tree in the 1960s. As Maribel activates her powers, ghostly whispers begin revealing fragmented images of a forbidden friendship between Lorraine and another child — one erased from town history. But something’s keeping Lorraine’s name from being spoken. The kids must decode the ghost-whispers and overcome a villainous groundskeeper who is trying to chop the tree down to “silence the past.” It’s a story about a race against time, bravery, and how friendship outlives fear.
3. Maribel and the Bell Tower Secret
Theme: Hidden Injustice & A Lost Voice
During a school trip to an abandoned cemetery chapel, The Memory Keepers hear the chapel bell ring — but no one pulled the rope. Maribel’s powers reveal the story of Clarisse, a mute bell ringer who once warned the town of fire by pounding the bell with her fists. The kids uncover a hidden room beneath the chapel containing Clarisse’s old journal — and a stolen town artifact. But a shady antique dealer wants the item and will stop at nothing to take it. With teamwork and clever sleuthing, they preserve Clarisse’s legacy and remind everyone that even a quiet voice can save lives.
4. Maribel and the Midnight Marchers
Theme: Patriotism, Ghostly Soldiers & The True Cost of War
On Veterans Day, strange ghostly figures are seen “marching” through a section of the cemetery. Locals call it the Midnight March — but no one knows why they appear. The Memory Keepers follow the trail and discover the ghosts are soldiers from multiple wars — each with unfinished stories. Maribel learns that the marchers aren’t seeking attention, but one missing comrade left behind without a grave. The kids go on a night quest across town to locate a lost field diary. Their journey honors unspoken stories and brings peace to the forgotten soldier who finally joins his regiment.
5. Maribel and the Broken Statue
Theme: Grief, Imagination & Healing from Loss
A statue of an angel in the children’s section of the cemetery mysteriously breaks apart, releasing surreal visions. The Memory Keepers experience dreamlike flashbacks of a boy named Nico, who created stories for every grave around him. Maribel suspects Nico’s spirit lingers because his family never returned after moving. A bitter spirit named Hollow tries to destroy the remaining statues and erase Nico’s stories. Through teamwork and creativity, the kids rewrite Nico’s adventures and hold a special “storybook vigil,” proving that imagination can keep memories alive long after goodbyes.
6. Maribel and the Garden of Echoes
Theme: Love, Time & Messages Across Generations
A hidden gate leads The Memory Keepers to a secret cemetery garden where roses bloom in winter — each planted by someone in mourning. But the newest flower blooms without a grave nearby. Maribel senses something out of time. The kids uncover a box of unsent love letters written during WWII, buried beneath a tree meant for the writer’s fiancée who never returned. A descendant — now elderly — never knew. With a race against time and the help of a young mail carrier ghost, the kids deliver the final letter and witness a reunion of souls. A story about how love refuses to be forgotten.
